Riyadh, Saudi Arabia | 28 August 2024:

The paper manufacturing and packaging industries in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are experiencing significant growth, fuelled by the rising demand for sustainable and eco-friendly packaging solutions. To address the industry’s needs and capitalize on growth opportunities, dmg events launches Saudi Paper & Packaging Expo, building on the success of the first edition of Saudi Signage & Labelling Expo, running from 20 – 22 May 2025 at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Centre (RICEC).

The Kingdom’s paper and paperboard packaging market size is estimated at $2.22 billion in 2024, and is expected to reach $2.84 billion by 2029, growing at a CAGR of 4.24% during the forecast period (Source: Mordor Intelligence). The growth in the industry is also attributed to the rising e-commerce sector, increasing consumer awareness about sustainable packaging and the government's Vision 2030 initiative, which emphasizes environmental sustainability.

Commenting on the launch, Muhammed Kazi, Senior Vice President, dmg events, said: “The launch of Saudi Paper & Packaging Expo underscores our commitment to supporting the growth and development of these key sectors in Saudi Arabia. Manufacturers, suppliers and innovators will come together to showcase their latest products, technologies and solutions and highlight the advancements that are shaping the future of paper and packaging industries.”

Kazi further added: “The remarkable success of the inaugural Saudi Signage & Labelling Expo, launched in 2023, demonstrated the demand for such a platform, and we are confident that the addition of the paper manufacturing and packaging sectors will further enhance the value we offer to our global and local exhibitors and visitors. The synergy between the two events promotes a comprehensive view, from paper and packaging machinery to labelling materials, technologies and printers, enabling exhibitors to showcase products and visitors to find solutions for their ongoing and upcoming projects."

The event will feature products and services across 11 dedicated sectors that include paper machinery & equipment, raw materials & chemicals, printing & packaging solutions, paper recycling & waste management, packaging materials, packaging machinery & equipment, packaging design & innovation, packaging automation & robotics, packaging supplies & accessories, packaging recycling & sustainability and packaging services & logistics.

Saudi Signage & Labelling Expo 2024 captured the industry’s interest

The launch of Saudi Paper & Packaging Expo follows the success of the inaugural Saudi Signage & Labelling Expo 2024, which received an overwhelming response from exhibitors and visitors alike in March 2024. The first edition of Saudi Signage & Labelling Expo marked the largest event in the Middle East for the digital, print, graphics and imaging industries. It hosted 8,414 visitors who met with 109 exhibitors from 11 countries and showcased products and services under six key sectors such as large format printing, signage, graphics, imaging, digital marketing and gifts & promotional materials.

“In its inaugural edition, Saudi Signage & Labelling Expo surpassed expectations, attracting visitors and buyers whilst facilitating local and international business partnerships, setting a new benchmark in the digital, printing, graphic and imaging industries in Saudi Arabia,” added Kazi.
